Introducing The Anointed Editorial
Discover how I’ve been supporting Christian creators since 2021.
I call The Anointed Editorial my “pandemic baby” because, like a madwoman, I opened during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
But the Lord told me during those days that in the days, weeks, and years to come, others would want to share inspiring words that drew people to (or back to) Him. He told me that I would serve Christian writers along that journey.
And what a journey it’s been.
What We’ve Done
I’m not one to talk about myself much. I don’t like to boast, but I’ve been able to do some incredible work through The Anointed Editorial.
Since 2021, I’ve:
Edited full-length manuscripts
Edited Bible plans that have featured on the YouVersion Bible app
Transcribed audiovisual devotionals into written devotionals that have also been accepted on the YouVersion Bible app
Written nurturing email content, social media posts, blog articles, YouTube video captions, and sales emails
Spearheaded a volunteer content contributor program for a virtual ministry
It felt like I was on fire building my business. I had a five-figure year. It wasn’t much, but I was darn proud of what I’d done.
However, in 2025, I felt God urging me to place my business on a soft pause.
He told me to gut everything — let go of clients (that were struggling to hold on anyway), close down social media, stop posting on the website. It was downright hard, and I struggled to do it.
Okay, full transparency: I didn’t do it. For months.
But God in His God way caused every connection to dry up. He forced my hand. Today I can say I am so thankful He did. He’s helped me put a spotlight on my writing ability and share it with the Substack community through my other publication Heart Matters. I also feel more deeply rooted in Him and because of that, I feel that I will take on projects that He has truly breathed upon.
What You Can Expect
So here we are in 2026. I’m rebuilding The Anointed Editorial slowly, with intentionality and God at the center. I feel more confident about how to serve you, Christian creators, while still honoring God.
I pray that our time together on Substack is beautiful, informative, and pleasing to God. Every month you can expect one new article covering editing and writing tips for Christian writers. I’ll also post notes about editing issues I see in real time, though these will also be mixed in with notes coming from my other publication Heart Matters.
Should you choose to subscribe to this publication, you can also expect it to remain free forever. This is information that should be in the hands of those making a difference for God’s kingdom, and it doesn’t feel right to charge for it.
But let’s be real: businesses don’t run on oxygen and “good vibes.” You can always support the cause by buying me a coffee. These funds will be used for business operations and some actual liquid (read: caffeine) motivation.
I’m excited about this new venture on Substack. Let’s grow our capacity, learn together, and advance God’s Word.
